I don't have the statistics in front of me, but it's quite the buzz in the world of people who discuss the future of social media. Many of the leading professionals in the corporate communications field are on Facebook and advocating it as a necessary place to be if you're running a business in the rapidly changing and growing social media world. I could point you to some people on Facebook who were born in the 50s and 60s even. What I wonder is how long each various social media outlet manages to keep its own identity while they're all competing for the same available user group? With MySpace, Facebook, LinkedIn, SecondLife, and many more... how long before we start seeing mergers that change the face of individual outlets? See... these are the crazy things you ponder when you read too many marketing/communications blogs and books.
