Helium, a Noble Gas

Filed under: General — stargazer @ 3:54 pm

I like using the blog as a question forum. I post my questions. You answer them.

I have some mylar balloons that I want to fill with helium for a party. They were used once for a party last year. Can I go to a store (like Dierberg’s florists) and have them fill it for me? What other stores have helium? How much does a little dose of helium cost these days?

How to sell a house?

Filed under: General — stargazer @ 4:49 pm

Seriously, does anybody know?

How can one make money on real estate these days with closing costs, loans, agent fees?

When we sell the house, we have to buy a new one.

I wish I knew someone with an “in”, someone who could make it right for me.

What if the house doesn’t sell?

Will I ever take another vacation?

slide down my rainbow

Filed under: General — stargazer @ 9:03 pm

My brother wanted to know if I could remember that old playground song we sang when we were kids… “slide down my rainbow, into my cellar door, and we’ll be jolly friends, forever more more more more”? I recalled it when he sang it, but I couldn’t remember it. There are a lot of old songs that I thought I’d never forget, but I somehow have. There are some that I wish I could forget, like the Kookaburra song.

So, Cici my playmate, come out and play with me, and bring your dollies three. Climb up my apple tree. Slide down my rainbow into my pot of gold, and we’ll be jolly friends forevermore, more, more-more.

Or, if I don’t like you, you can slide down my razor blade into my dungeon door.

Nativity

Filed under: General — stargazer @ 7:07 pm

I had the priviledge of screening the movie “The Nativity Story,” which will be released Friday for all to see. I had seen that Keisha Castle-Hughes plays Mary, and I really enjoyed her in “Whale Rider” so I was looking forward to the screening.

The Nativity Story has been told many ways and many times. It has been awhile since I have seen something new, and I really liked this portrayl. We were pleased with the character development in the movie, especially that of Joseph. Also, the “wise men” were the comic relief, and they were quite funny. (“But my dates… my nuts… my spices!”) I encourage you to go see The Nativity Story this year. It was really beautiful and inspiring. Or, if you judge movies on your emotions, I cried a lot. I wouldn’t mind even going to see it again.

Crazy

Filed under: General — stargazer @ 11:10 am

Who ever thought I would actually ENJOY writing names on table place cards?! I’m shocked. I wish I had more rsvps. Then I could write more names. I must be nuts.

I can’t believe it’s actually fun! The artistic elements of forming the letters to make a name are like music notes strummed together to play a song. I think I’ve lost my marbles.

My friend’s sister stayed over last night on her way to Alabama. We had never met before, and here I am with my place cards all over. She’ll never forget me. I must be crazy. But at least I’m having fun!

Strawberry Watermelon Shasta

Filed under: General — stargazer @ 1:04 pm

I love strawberry Nerds! I mean those little pink pieces of sugar. They are so tasty. I even had a strawberry & grape Nerd concrete at an ice cream place in Illinois. I don’t recommend it though. Nerds and ice cream are not a good combination. But Nerds and soda are delicious. If you like strawberry Nerds too, you should check out Strawberry Watermelon Shasta soda. I think it’s probably my favorite artificially flavored carbonated beverage.

A tennis ball, athletic tape, and a flat tire

Filed under: General — stargazer @ 10:59 am

My tennis ball is my new best friend. It is amazing how it can fix a sore muscle. Unfortunately, it can’t fix my bicycle tire. I took a different route home yesterday, and I ran over a tack and ruined my bike tire. Blast! I depend on that bicycle.
