My brother wanted to know if I could remember that old playground song we sang when we were kids… “slide down my rainbow, into my cellar door, and we’ll be jolly friends, forever more more more more”? I recalled it when he sang it, but I couldn’t remember it. There are a lot of old songs that I thought I’d never forget, but I somehow have. There are some that I wish I could forget, like the Kookaburra song.
So, Cici my playmate, come out and play with me, and bring your dollies three. Climb up my apple tree. Slide down my rainbow into my pot of gold, and we’ll be jolly friends forevermore, more, more-more.
Or, if I don’t like you, you can slide down my razor blade into my dungeon door.
Owwww!!!!
Ugh. I too remember the Kookaburra song. I share your pain.

In case it was still keeping you and your brother up late at night…
the version I remember goes..
Say, Say oh playmate,
oh won’t you play with me?
Climb up my apple tree
And bring your dollies three
Slide down my rainbow
right through my celler door
and we’ll be jolly friends
forever more
1-2-3-4
Say say oh playmate
I can not play with you
My dollies have the flu
(something) cry boo hoo
Can’t slide down your rainbow
or through your celler door
but we’ll still be jolly friends
forevermore
1-2-3-4-
4-3-2-1
my song is done

I remember that song! The version I know goes:
Oh jolly playmate
Come out and play with me
And bring your dollies three
Climb up my apple tree
Slide down my rainbow
Into my cellar door
And we’ll be jolly friends
Forever more, more more
Im sorry playmate
I can not play with you
My dollie has the flu
She threw up in my shoe
I have no shoe now
I have no cellar door
But we’ll be jolly friends
Forever more more more
