Ridiculous Ringtones

Filed under: General — stargazer @ 6:03 pm

My brother has this really cool ringtone for his phone… It sounds like a radio playing “Ignition (Remix)” so it’s like… “the remix to ignition, hot and fresh out the kitchen…” Tres cool. And I like mine, which also sounds like the radio. It’s a cut from Tori Amos’ “A Sorta Fairytale.” “…so sad, like a good book I can’t put this day back, a sorta fairytale with you.”

I kinda like those ringtones that sound like phones ringing. That’s normal. But then there’s these ridiculously annoying midi songs that people have. An undergrad who worked with me this summer had something impressively annoying as her ringtone. It was like a well known carnival-like song for kids. I think I have successfully blocked it from my memory.

What’s Your Sleep Number?

Filed under: General — stargazer @ 9:23 pm

Mine is estimated at 15.

I just went to the select comfort, sleep number bed website. I want one of those. I wake up every morning and I’m miserable. I used to think I had a nice bed, but it isn’t working for me anymore. So I’m gonna think about it some more. I don’t know what size of bed to get or if a new bed will cure my problem, but sleep number does have a 30 day guarantee…

Octopus and Avacados

Filed under: General — stargazer @ 5:13 pm

Last night, I had the wonderful privelege of going out to a sushi restaurant. The dinner was so amazing! I’ve never had much of a taste for fish, especially of the raw variety, but it sure was delicious. The company was fabulous too.

So you will not believe some of this stuff I ate! (well maybe you will.) I got some kind of sampler and I had tuna, crab, squid, some scaly herring thing, seaweed, wasabi, and OCTOPUS. Ew! It had tentacle looking things on it. Very scary… and it was kind of crunchy. Crunchy in a water chestnut/octopus kind of a way.

The avacado got eaten for lunch today. I’m still full from it (nearly 4 hours later). I thought it was ok, but it would have tasted better if it was guacamole. Maybe I’ll be ready to eat another one plain like that in about 3 months.

Avacado Blues and Dark Greens

Filed under: General — stargazer @ 6:10 pm

I found out that there is an outdoor market in the Loop every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. This week I bought an avacado for 89 cents. I hear they’re one of the only “fatty” vegetables. Sounds good to me. I’ve never eaten an avacado just plain before, but I’m working myself up to it. I think I’m gonna indulge for lunch tomorrow. It better be good. It better taste like guacamole or that fancy avacado appetizer I once had at the cheesecake factory in California. I’m sure you wanted me to clutter your mind with this, but what else is there to say?

I’m gonna go home and look at the avacado some more. Maybe I’ll pack my lunch for tomorrow.
