Hurricane Lisa?

Filed under: General — stargazer @ 11:02 am

Yesterday, I found out that there is a Tropical-Storm-Lisa out over the Atlantic. “Oh no!” I said to myself. I hope this storm doesn’t get too bad. I’m sure everyone out there named “Ivan” is just loving their first name right now. Maybe the weather service should come up with a different way to name hurricanes, like “a hurricane is forming over the Atlantic,” instead of “Hurricane Lisa is heading straight for the Missouri coast!”

What really entertained me today was this passage that I read at the end of an article about the destruction Hurricane Jeanne (my middle name is Jean) left on Haiti: “Meanwhile, Hurricane Karl and Tropical Storm Lisa remained far out in the Atlantic. Karl’s sustained winds were 140 mph, making it a Category 4 hurricane. Lisa had winds of 60 mph.”

I sent it to my friend Karl, who wrote back and said that his wrath would always be greater than mine.

In the meantime, it is good to know I have winds of 60 miles per hour. Watch out!

  2. Ummmm….. I don’t think Missouri has much of a coast. My kids might disagree since they thought that St. Louis was in Montana, but let’s ignore them for a while, like I do.

P.S. Yes, I know that Montana doesn’t have an ocean coast either.
