Dear Loyal Blog Readers,
My apologies for being so bad at blogging this month. I have been so busy with my business trip to California, preparations for this wedding I’m in, and other odds and ends, that I just haven’t made time to do the blog thing. Anyway, California was great! I got to go to the beach and see my family and my friend Jenni and drive along the beautiful coastline and hang out in Santa Barbara and see my cousin’s soccer game and watch the Olympics on TV and have all kinds of fun in the sun… andgotoaseminarforwork. It was a fabulous long weekend! And then I had to come back. And it was sad.
I came back to the last week of wedding preparations. I still have to work on my dance (and buy appropriate shoes… does anyone have dark green or gold fancy shoes in size 7-ish??? Help. Please.). This Indian dancing thing is SO hard when you don’t know what you’re doing. I’m dancing to a song called “USA Vich LA.” It’s about a white girl who falls in love with an Indian guy. It’s a pop song, and it’s easy to dance to, but I have almost no practice with choreography. I don’t want to go out there and make a fool of myself. Oh well, what can you do?
And then, with the rest of my spare time I have been enjoying the Olympics. I just loving watching gymnastics. They should televise gymnastics more often. Anyway, if you haven’t been watching, there has been this major problem with the judging of the gymnastics. My heart goes out to Paul Hamm. All these people think he should give back his gold medal, and whatnot. He didn’t do anything except quality gymnastics. It’s all about problems with the judging… some of the scores were inflated, some were perhaps “incorrect,” but I think he should keep his medal. And America should be happy for the triumph.
I did love Alexi Nemov’s high bar routine in the event finals. I think he should have won. Who cares if he had a step on the landing?
Yay Olympics!
