From the Loop and I’m Proud…?

Filed under: General — stargazer @ 11:38 pm

To move or not to move, that is the bare bodkin.

Actually, I have made up my mind that I would like to move. It may only be a temporary thing, but seeing as my parents are charging me up the wazoo to live with them, I might as well live somewhere else instead.

So the idea that I have is to sublease an apartment during the summer. I looked at a really cute studio for $325 in Dogtown. It was really quiet there. Really nice and peaceful. I liked it a lot. I also looked at a place one block north of Delmar in the U City Loop (right behind Blockbuster, near Ciceros). There, I would have a roommate who is studying social work at Washington University. It seems like a pretty nice deal ($250). I’d be where it’s at. Both places are within a mile and a half of my office.

What should I do??? Where should I live? Or should I hold out? Maybe I’d find a better deal on a better place. *Sigh* I hate making decisions. I never know what to do. Help!!

  1. Lisa,

My sister lived in dogtown and LOVED it. Wonderful location if you don’t mind being about 5 miles from a less nice place. The loop is also wonderful and full of people your age (both are), but probably full of a more eclectic, student crowd. Dogtown seems to have a few more young post-graduates. Either way, I’m coming to the housewarming.

  2. But Lisa, making decisions is the best part of being an adult! :) I’m not kidding – they really are.

My only suggestion (because I’m not going to give you any recommendations or suggest one place over the other) is that you NOT sublease. get a one-year lease somewhere.

Moving more than once in a year sucks. I know.

  4. Hmm, no clue on which place. Either one works for going out partying though, right? ;) Know you’ll be hitting all those bars, drinking, etc.

Course, I’m just teasing, but either place sounds like it would be a good place to grab a few beers and just be able to walk home without having to worry about parking.
