Farting in the oil companies’ general direction

Filed under: General — stargazer @ 8:51 pm

So I went to fill up the tank on the way home from work today, and not a moment too soon. I know Tuesday is the traditional day for drastic jumps in gas prices, so I try to make sure I fill up on Mondays. But on Monday (yesterday), I for some reason felt very confident that the prices would not jump on Tuesday. I was wrong. Way wrong.

I was also lucky because I happened upon a gas station this afternoon that had not yet increased their rates, so I filled up for $1.58 and 9/10. (The whole 9/10ths things is completely ridiculous too.) The other station I passed was dealing gasoline for $1.79 and 9/10. Of course I was happy that I found the lower price, but inwardly, I was raging at the 21 cent differential per gallon. This injustice has got to stop!!! If you’re gonna raise gas prices, at least do so slowly, over the course of several days.

I know in the grand scheme of things wrong with the world, this is just a tiny fingerprint on a glass door of life on earth. But it really bothers me.

  1. Sweety, you amuse me greatly sometimes. I didn’t believe that such a title would pass your fair fingers. I guffawed. As for gas, companies can’t predict what prices’ll be at from day to day so gradually increasing wouldn’t work. It’s just the way it is. As for the grand scheme of things, everything is related, so go ahead and bitch all you want. I do it at least once every 10 minutes. I fear my head would explode if I did not.
